The Legacy of John Williams is proud to present to its readers and followers a new, revamped version of the website. After crossing the first 5-year milestone in 2023, it was time to give this platform a new spin and bring it to a new, possibly higher level of trust and excellence for all the admirers of John Williams.

Since its inception in September 2018, the website grew constantly and considerably, becoming one of the most trusted resources on the web for anyone looking for reliable and well-researched information about the Maestro and his music. Thanks to the associated podcast series, The Legacy of John Williams also reached a new, larger fan base of people, giving further insight to the work of Maestro Williams through extensive interviews with musicians, several video specials and the contribution of soundtrack producer Mike Matessino, who has been a regular guest on the show.

In October 2023, The Legacy of John Williams also hopped outside the web realm for a short detour in the “real world” with a live in-person event in London, where fans and admirers of the Maestro were able to hear stories and anecdotes on the many works by John Williams recorded in London with the LSO, while also being treated with a special peek behind the scenes of the recording process courtesy of Mike Matessino, who was connected live from Los Angeles.

John Williams has been incredibly active throughout these years, with new film scores, new concert works and many appearances on the concert stages of the whole world (including sold-out gigs in Vienna, Berlin, Milan and Tokyo), which were chronicled both on these pages and via our social media channels.

Now, in 2024, The Legacy of John Williams enters a new phase of its life, expanding and reinforcing its mission to celebrate the Maestro and his indelible music. In addition to a more pleasing visual design and a clearer organization of its categories, the website will feature new sections dedicated to the works of John Williams, including a complete filmography, a full listing of his works for television (currently under construction) and a comprehensive guide to the works written for concert stage. Every section will then feature entries dedicated to each specific work, with as much details as possible, including discography, bibliography, video and audio references. There are also other small surprises which should please the eyes of many fans. All the previous links have been maintained and restored, so you should be able to find anything you may have bookmarked in the past.

The overall work is still very much in progress and I want to thank you already for your patience and for any minor flubs you may spot. At the moment only a few single entries are available (I’ll leave you the surprise to discover what they are) and we’re in the process of bringing on board a few collaborators who will help us in this major effort of extensive chronology, which aims to be as accurate and detailed as possible. Consider The Legacy of John Williams as a living, organic platform that is constantly growing and improving. Of course the regular content will continue to appear, with new podcast episodes and new articles already in preparation. I also hope that the new design will also help you to (re)discover some of the previously published articles and entries that you may have overlooked.

All of this wouldn’t have been possible without the help of co-producer and co-host Tim Burden, social media and PR manager Ilaria Ruffoni, graphic consultants Gianmaria Caschetto and Alessandro Minoggi. I also want to personally thank Mike Matessino, Tim Greiving and Miguel Andrade for their help and support in double-checking information. And of course thank you to the extended base of fans and admirers of John Williams that enriched the internet over the years with a lot of information.

Thank you everyone for the support you showed throughout all these years. If you want to reach out, feel free to write us using the form in the Contact section. I promise you that The Legacy of John Williams will continue to be a thrilling “adventure on earth” for all fans and admirers of the Maestro.
